The final event and both cars and drivers were present. As always the season finale brought out a large number of competitors from across the country and even a few from across the border!

After several tweaks to the suspension over the last few events trying to make the car work better this was our time to prove all that effort was well worth it! The R32 Skyline GTR pushed hard and managed to qualify 4th, even though it was struggling to put down times faster than 6th on the grid, due to the competition.

But Farshad managed to do it, setting an official time of 1:21.174 a second faster than 4th and a personal best!

Scott in the E46 M3 was up against some even tougher competition, a Dodge Viper ACR. Qualifying behind the ACR Viper and a hard fought battle during time attack, the E46 M3 finished in 2nd place, with an official time of 1:16.769.

What a great way to wrap up the season with both cars finishing on the podium!

Scott took home the Overall CSCS 2017 SSR Championship as well!

Congratulations to all the drivers on their season and we can't wait to see you in 2018! Stay Tuned!

Unfortunately, the team was down one man due to unforeseen circumstances and the E46 M3 piloted by Scott was our only entry into this event.

The first few qualifying sessions started promising with a 1:55 working down to high 1:53s. Unfortunately we were struck with puncture in the first session after lunch which would have ended our day, but fortunately we managed to get some help from a fellow driver and were back in the game!

The results were fantastic, we finished 1st on the podium for our class, we were top 5 overall for the day and were also the fastest street driven car for the day with an official time of 1:55.968.

<![CDATA[CSCS Round 3 @ Toronto Motorsports Park]]>Sun, 23 Jul 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-round-3-toronto-motorsports-parkWe're back again for the Canadian Sports Compact Series (CSCS) Round 3 at the Toronto Motorsports Park. This time however, the track layout is quite different. We are running in reverse with two chicanes just before the end of the main straight. This setup dubbed the TMP SB - which stands for Sean - Blake is a tribute to our friends Sean and Blake who passed away recently.

Every competitor was looking forward to this event as the CSCS organizers did not reveal the details of this track layout until the very last minute and it was definitely a fun and challenging track layout.

Another day with some tough competition, with everyone trying to learn the new track layout the R32 Skyline GTR managed to qualify but once again missed the podium by finishing in 4th place. Its been so close for us, but just not enough. A few suspension tweaks are planned before the next event. Our official time was 1:27.751 - with lots of room for improvement.

The competition was even tougher for the E46 M3 with an local shop's Tesla electric powered Lotus Evora competing in the Super Street RWD (SSR) Class. Scott did his best and the E46 M3 finished in 2nd place, just behind the Tesla powered Evora which managed to run insane official lap times which were significantly quicker than all but one Unlimited Car! The E46 M3 managed to put down an official 1:22.386 on this brand new track configuration.

<![CDATA[CSCS Round 2 @ Toronto Motorsports Park]]>Sun, 25 Jun 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-round-2-toronto-motorsports-park6299636The second round of the Canadian Sport Compact Series (CSCS) was at the popular Toronto Motorsports Park. It seems like the last few times we have been here the weather has been uncooperative. The weather initially held up well, but rain was in the forecast and when it did start to rain it poured and poured! Making the last few rounds of Qualifying slow ones.

Unfortunately we had sat out of a few earlier qualifying rounds and therefore were at risk of not Qualifying so it ended up coming down to the last session just before the rain hit to make it count. Both cars managed to make it count, the R32 Skyline GTR qualifying 5th, and the E46 M3 managing to hold the lead in the unfavourable conditions for a pole position.

Despite another solid effort we missed out on the podium with the R32 Skyline GTR this time by only tenths of a second, with an Official time of 1:23.567, well off our best time here.

The E46 M3 stayed in the lead during the time attack sessions putting us up on the podium in first place in the SSR Class with an official time of 1:17.412, once again quite a bit off our best time here!

See you all at Round 3!

<![CDATA[CSCS Season Opener - Round 1 @ Mosport]]>Sun, 28 May 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-season-opener-round-1-mosportThe first event of the season was the Canadian Sport Compact Series (CSCS) Season Opener at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park DDT Track. Unlike the previous year, there was no snow on the track during qualifying and the weather held up quite well, making it a great day for some racing.

Both cars performed well and managed to qualify in their respective classes. The R32 Skyline GTR was competing in the new entry class, the Production AWD (PA) Class and the E46 M3 competing in the Super Street RWD (SSR) Class.

The R32 Skyline GTR was up against some tough competition and despite a solid effort missed out on the podium. The Official Time was a 1:40.821 which was just under a second to the podium. More seat time and setup improvements will surely have us on the podium next season, In addition, it was exciting to finally see another Skyline competing (although in a different class) on the track with us making it a fun day for sure.

The E46 M3 had a great start to the season, with some tough competition as well, Scott managed to drive the car in for a win and a new SSR Class Record with an Official Time of 1:32.573!

Congrats to Scott and the other class winners.

<![CDATA[CSCS Round 5 @ Toronto Motorsports Park]]>Sun, 18 Sep 2016 07:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscsThe final CSCS event of the season at the popular Toronto Motorsports Park, started off as a great day, and we decided to skip the first Qualifying session in order to get a few more checks on the cars before heading out, but unfortunately mother nature did not cooperate and a torrential downpour followed that lasted for some time and the track was soaked. Having lost a qualifying session and having not set a time in the E46 M3 or the R32 Skyline GTR on a dry track, we were in trouble.

The track began to dry out but unfortunately not soon enough. On the last session we had a brake issue which led us to abandon the track in the last qualifying session leading to a non-qualifying time for the R32 Skyline GTR.

However Scott managed to get a few good runs in and qualified in the Super Street RWD Class. Scott was tied in points for the lead in the overall CSCS SSR Championship and needed to win this race or finish ahead to win the Championship.

Scott managed to fight his way to a second place finish, a little off his best time, setting an official time of 1:17.680, but good enough to stay ahead in the points!

A tough battle but well fought and an overall CSCS SSR Championship win for Scott & the E46 M3, Well Done!

Congratulation to Scott and Farshad and all the other competitors on a great season!

We are looking forward to some class changes due for next year.

<![CDATA[CSCS Round 4 @ Grandbend Raceway]]>Sat, 20 Aug 2016 07:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-round-4-grandbend-racewayWith the cancellation of Event 3, everyone was coming back from a bit of a break. The fourth event of the CSCS Championship was at held at Granbend Raceway.

Having worked through our previous issues on the E46 M3, Scott was suited and ready to hit the track. Coming back from the first Qualifying round, much to our displeasure, we noticed some overheating issues. Quick troubleshooting revealed our automatic fan relay had failed!

Thanks to some wire splicing and a much appreciated toggle switch from our friends at CanJam, we managed to setup a bypass switch and had the fan running.
Scott & Farshad Troubleshooting
Farshad was out in the R32 Skyline GTR setting some decent qualifying times. The competition was tough and the Street AWD (SAWD) competitors were swapping grid positions as the day progressed. The Skyline GTR managed to get into the first qualifying group, but qualified at the back of the grid.

With the issues resolved, Scott set an excellent pace in qualifying and was one of the fastest cars of the day! During the Time Attack there was no more Drama and the car performed excellent.

Setting an Official Time of 1:09.722 Scott was the 5th fastest time of the day. An amazing drive and finally a well-deserved finish at the top of the Podium for the E46 M3 and Scott!

Getting out there during the Time Attack, Farshad set a blistering first lap, but unfortunately backed out on Laps 2 and 3 due to Yellow Flags being waved and being cautious, since he was not being able to lock in on the reason for the flags. Coming off the track, we were unsure if the first lap was going to be enough for a podium finish as the second SAWD group had yet to head out for their timed session.
Both drivers finish on the Podium @ CSCS Round 4
With an Official time of 1:13.966 the Skyline GTR and Farshad secured a 3rd place finish in SAWD. A tough battle and a decent finish.
Both drivers finished on the podium and we can't wait to do it again at CSCS Season Finale at Toronto Motorsports Park.

Congratulation to Farshad, Scott and the other class winners and look out for us at the CSCS Season Finale!

<![CDATA[ CSCS Round 3 - ICAR Montreal x Cancelled x]]>Mon, 25 Jul 2016 04:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-round-3-icar-montrealMuch to everyone's disappointment, the event at ICAR was cancelled at no fault of CSCS.

The next event is Round 4 at Grandbend Raceway on August 20th with the Team in full force!]]>
<![CDATA[CSCS Round 2 @ Toronto Motorsports Park]]>Mon, 27 Jun 2016 04:00:00 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-round-2-toronto-motorsports-park4847492The second round of CSCS was at the popular Toronto Motorsports Park and having seemingly sorted out our issues from the last event we were ready for battle.

We struggled with issues throughout the day, mostly battling a coilpack issue and running on less than all six cylinders. Scott managed to limp the car around to Qualify for the Time Attack but we were unable to resolve the issues before competition and therefore had to settle for fourth place, missing out on the podium by 3-tenths and our best time by over two seconds.

With two events down and the cars full potential not yet realized, we are going to ensure we are running 100% for Round 3!

See you at iCar.

<![CDATA[CSCS Season Opener - Round 1 @ Mosport DDT]]>Mon, 16 May 2016 00:20:34 GMThttp://fsmotorsports.ca/home/cscs-season-opener-round-1-mosport-ddt3601517

The first event of the Season was at the Canadian Sports Compact Series (CSCS) Season Opener at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park DDT Track.

The E46 M3 driven by Scott was representing us in the first event in Super Street RWD (SSR) class at the CSCS Season Opener. The GTR will only be participating at the Grandbend Raceway event later this year at CSCS Round 4.

The CSCS Season Opener did not go as planned, but nothing exciting ever does. The CSCS Season Opener had it all, familiar faces, fast cars, frustrations, victories and... even Snow!

With the recent introduction of boost comes new challenges, keeping the car reliable being the largest. With boost leaks, coil pack failure and fueling issues rising up one by one it was a very busy and challenging day. A qualifying session in the snow also added to the excitement.

By the end of it all a Second Place finish was achieved in SSR with the car in limp mode. The goal was to smash the SSR record set by Scott last year, but it remains untouched until Scott and the competition return next year to get another shot at it.

The Official Time was 1:37.947 with the car in limp mode, more than 3 seconds slower than our record time.

The lessons learned are already being applied for a stronger showing at CSCS Round 2.

Congratulation to Scott and the other class winners and look out for the E46 M3 at CSCS Round 2!
